The proposals to increase the size of the Senedd without a mandate strikes at the very heart of our democracy. The increase in size and cost together with proposals to break the link between the electorate and named candidates without reference to voters is high-handed and undemocratic.

The Welsh electorate have only the vaguest grasp of the role and responsibility of The Senedd. To railroad these proposals through without allowing the Welsh public a say will only serve to deepen the divide between Cardiff Bay and the rest of Wales.
